Hello, I' m
Vanessa Tang
CEO and founder of Treasure Name Company.
When I studied abroad in the past, I found that many Asians did not have their own English names, only
Asian names. When it comes to making friends, going to school, and working in foreign countries, it is
difficult for foreigners to easily remember Asian names. Even though some Asians had English name, they
sound very strange to foreigners, such as Dick, Apple, Sunny...but to foreigners, this is not a formal
name at all, so they should be careful of being teased. You should avoid taboos when choosing an English
name, so as not to become the laughing stock of foreigners.
Since I am a HKer, and generally speaking,
HKer have Chinese name and English names, when I studied abroad, I was often asked by Asian students to
help them choose an English name that suited them. The importance of a name is to leave a good impression
on others. Having a nice English name, leave a good impression to others.
